The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) said it would not accept the ‘peace deal’ between President Muhammadu Buhari and his South African counterpart, Cyril Ramaphosa if some certain conditions were not met; saying, “peace must come at all cost.”

NANS said this in a statement signed by its Spokesperson, Azeez Adeyemi and made available to DAILY POST on Tuesday.

Adeyemi said, “Nigerian students were shocked with the response of President Buhari to the South African envoy, assuring the killers of several of Nigerians of continued relationship.

DAILY POST recalls that Ramaphosa had sent an envoy to Nigeria yesterday, apologizing to the nation over the killing of Nigerians in South Africa as a result of xenophobia.

President Buhari, while responding to the apologies from the South African President, pledged that the relationship between the two countries “will be solidified,” while describing xenophobic attacks on Nigerians as “very unfortunate.”

Reacting, NANS said, “Nigerians in South Africa have said they lost properties worth millions of naira and their fellow countrymen, some of whom were allegedly killed by South African policemen.
