Vivo Y11 is a really good budget smartphone focusing on one aspect that people shopping for a smartphone in this range will really appreciate; battery. This device packs a hefty 5,000mAh battery which comes with the highly efficient Snapdragon 439 from Qualcomm to give you one of the best battery life you can possibly expect from a smartphone in this price range.
Alongside the SoC is 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It has a 6.35-inch display with a notch, a dual rear camera, a fingerprint sensor at the back and runs and our 9.0 Pie out of the box with Vivo’s own Funtouch OS on top. Let’s dig a little deeper.Design And DisplayDesign-wise, the Vivo Y11 looks like pretty much other budget smartphones. It has a glossy plastic back and a glass at the front on top of the 6.3-inch display. The display which has an HD+ resolution 720 x1544 with a 268ppi uses an IPS LCD panel. A 19:9 aspect ratio was used for the display here with a water-drop notch at the top housing the front-facing camera. The chin here is bigger than usual but still manageable.
The back of the device which is made of plastic is packed with a fingerprint sensor at its usual spot and a dual rear camera along with an LED flash at the top left corner. Despite having such a big battery, this device Weighs just 190grams and measures 8.9mm in thickness. You can get this device in either the Coral Red or Jade Green colour option. It also has a dual SIM card slot and a dedicated microSD slot for additional storage.
Camera ReviewVivo Y11 has only three cameras in total which comprises of the two at the back and the one at the front in the notch. About the one in the notch, it is an 8MP sensor for selfies which has an f/1.8 aperture and is capable of shooting 1080p videos at 30fps.
Turning over to the back reveals the dual-camera setup consisting of a 13MP main sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and PDAF alongside a secondary 2MP depth sensor camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The rear camera is equipped with an LED flash, HDR and Panorama. Similar to the selfie camera, this rear camera can shoot 1080p videos at 30fps as well.Hardware and SoftwareIn the hardware department, we have the efficient Snapdragon 439 SoC from Qualcomm doing all the work. This SoC has an octa-core processor clocked at 1.95GHz with an Adreno 505 GPU.
3GB of RAM takes care of multitasking through apps while 32GB of internal storage stores files. There is also a dedicated microSD slot available which can accommodate up to 256GB of additional storage. This device runs Android 9.0 Pie out of the box which has Vivo’s own Funtouch OS 9.1 skin slapped on top.
.Battery and ConnectivityThe 5,000mAh battery here is perhaps the highlight of this device which Vivo says will perform well. It also comes with a standard 10W fast charging support which would be rather slow for the capacity. It also has 4G LTE connectivity as well WiFi, WiFi direct, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS, FM radio and of course, a microUSB port for charging and transferring of files.
