Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde has revealed his intention to see into the case of hiked fees been paid by students of The Polytechnic, Ibadan as soon as possible. The Governor who just reach out to people on his 100 days in office made this claim on his Twitter handle while reacting to an appeal by students of the institution to reduce the school fees they are currently paying. He has called on the management of the Polytechnic Ibadan to be transparent and accountable to the state government. Recall that the governor had earlier made the call while speaking on a quarterly interactive radio programme, where he feeds the public on the programmes of government and tasked the management of the school on transparency. Engr. Makinde, who expressed concern over the inability of the management of the institution to account for the funds being generated over the years, noted that the subvention the government is providing was outrageous, considering the high fees being paid by the students. He urged those in charge to adjust and be responsible to their employers, in order to aid educational reform programmes of the current administration.
