As Polytechnic Ibadan authority is preparing for the school 34th Convocation, which has been scheduled to hold on the 13th December, 2019. The students has warned the school management not to stage any convocation on their behalf for the end of 2019 academic session, rather implored lecturers and concerned authorities to process and release their results.
Some students of the institution who spoke to Westerndailynews reporter on behalf of 2017/2018 admitted students lamented on the poor handling of their future by the school management.
” we don’t know who and who they want to do the convocation for, none of the acclaimed graduated students has his or her final result, both ND and HND Students finalists. We are yet to see our results for second semester ND 1″ Azeez, from FBCS faculty Student lamented.
” If The polytechnic Ibadan management knows they don’t have resources to run Daily Part-Time Programme, then they should suspend it, it is the DPP students that are suffering most, imagine ND students presently on I.T are yet to see their result for a sessions, hard for many ND students to apply for HND programme and for those that applied, it is this same institution that screened out own product for HND programme as a result of none presentation of ND notification of result during oral screening interview”. Students who finished their national Diploma from Departments like, Science Laboratory Technology, Statistics, Public Administration, Accounting, Insurance, Office technology management,Marketing, Electrical and Civil Engineering was deprived admission into same department to pursue their Higher National Diploma this year because of missing scripts and results unprocessed.
Also, Adeeko, an ex public administration student said many students were disqualified for direct entry into universities due to obnoxious attitudes of the Polytechnic Ibadan School Management to producers their students notification of result.
It was the same story for HND graduated students, many departments unnecessary delayed their student’s results. It took some departments 6 months to ascertain who and who graduated, these is worrisome and called for urgent attention.
